  1. Kia Ora Jack and Jurgen,

Wow, you’ve both done such an amazing job writing your poems! I particularly like the image you have chosen on your title slide which has both of the colours you mention in your writing. I also really like your use of similes.

Jack, I really like how you made the first word, ‘blue’, the colour blue. What a clever way to make it stand out. The way you described the colour as a sound was also ingenious and painted a wonderful picture. I like how you mentioned the sea as I love swimming. Isn’t it incredible that the sea looks so blue but once you dive under it, there’s a plethora of different colours. What things do you think you could you see under the water?

Jurgen, you’ve also done a stellar job! I like how you’ve talked about the feelings, sounds, and tastes associated with the colour purple for you. I agree, purple does make me think of nerves and fear and juicy plums dripping down my face. You said that it reminds you of your old toy car. What did that look like? Do you have any other purple toys?

It would be really awesome if you both could include some more pictures or colours into the slides with your poems to really engage your readers. Perhaps you could look at these tips for making eye catching blog posts to help or grab some inspiration so your poems stand out as much as your title slide!

    Nga mihi,
    Shannon
